Initially created as a teaching tool, squard is an exercise in minimal rule-based design. Starting from the computer screen's most natural shape, the square, it aims to create a large range of compositions by the simplest of processes.		Arp animates rectangular partitions providing instant minimal compositions. When animated the effect is of a continuously shifting space where no point of focus remains for long.
